Is planning creativity is impossible?
Many ideas come to you in moments when you least expect them. To make matters worse, we're not always in the best position to capitalize on them. How can we be productive when we can't make creativity more efficient and predictable? Here are two tips that you can use to capitalize on your creative output.
1. Store it
If an idea comes to you, write it down, doodle, or say it out loud. You have to record an idea even if it may seem meaningless or sub-par in the moment. There is a reason that you why that particular thought entered your mental frame.
2. Schedule a time to revisit the idea
Anytime you store an idea, you have to put the effort into revisiting it. All too often we write things down, only to build a pile of ideas that are neglected. Set aside time each week or each quarter to sort through what you were thinking. This is one of the best ways to maximize your creative output.
